Committed to Health
Dr. James Turner has over 25 years experience as a physical therapist. As the clinical director at Danville Orthopedic & Athletic Rehab, James has helped thousands of people return to function after injury, recover from surgery, or reduce chronic pain. He believes a commitment to wellness, through a balanced diet and regular exercise, is key to staying healthy and enjoying the most out of life.
Passion for Cycling
Ride Director James Turner designed the 5 routes for the River Ride, including a 10-mile route for beginners and families, and 20, 35, 60, and 100 mile routes for experienced cyclists. James is an advocate for the sport of cycling as a challenging and enjoyable form of exercise. When he’s not in the clinic treating patients, you can find often him mountain biking on Anglers Ridge or road cycling across the rolling hills of the Piedmont.
Raising the Roof
Ride Director James Turner is also an advocate for the housing ministry of Habitat for Humanity. He is regularly volunteers for Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity with West Main Baptist Church’s roofing crew, which has roofed almost ALL of the 43 Habitat homes in Danville and Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Proceeds from the River Ride will help Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity build its 44th home.
